"Nut Teapot," 2005
Slab-built ceramic with bronze glaze
7" high x 12" wide

This teapot was made as a comment
on the industrialization of the home.

  "Pebble Bowl," 2001
Hand-built ceramic with black-blue glaze
9" diameter

Dozens of small "pebbles" create an interesting texture in this bowl.

  "Kurlan Naiskos," 2005
Hand-built ceramic with tinted slips
and gold glaze
10" wide x 8" tall

Hollow bust with golden-glazed figurines inside. Additional Photos and Background.

"Ziggurat," 2005
Slab-built ceramic with gold glaze
and iron oxide washes
11" square base x 6.5" high

My imagining of the ancient
Mesopotamian ziggurat.

  "Ecclesiastes Bowl," 2005
Wheel-thrown ceramic with clear and metallic gold glazes.
7" diameter

"All come from dust; to dust all shall return" reads the base, referring to man; the biblical quotation could just as easily refer to pottery.

  "Armadillo Rattle," 2005
Hand-built ceramic with iron oxide wash.
3" long

Hollow rattle filled with ceramic beads.

"Earthen Cylinders," 2005
Wheel-thrown ceramic with tinted glazes.
3" diameter x 5" tall

Examples of my first attempts to throw a cylinder.

  "Pineapple Teapot," 2005
Wheel-thrown and hand-built ceramic with multiple layers of glazes.
7" wide x 9.5" high

My integration of a natural form and a functional (sort of) pot.
